Alchemical/Hermetic Ideology Scavenger Hunt
Alchemical/Hermetic ideology is scattered all throughout literature, almost to the same extent as biblical and mythological symbolism. Authors we will study that use alchemical references, symbolism, themes and motifs are: William Shakespeare (The Tempest), Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist) and, in your junior year, Christopher Marlowe (Dr. Faustus. To better understand the references made, one must have a basic understanding of the history of Alchemy and Hermeticism throughout the centuries. In teams of two, please investigate using the web links provided below. Make an Emaze, a Prezi, or a Google Slides presentation to present your findings to include art work that illustrates some of the principles. Send me the link to your presentation. Please ensure both team members names are on the title slide. Below the links, there are some questions to guide your investigation. Make sure your presentation is cohesive...as if you were going to use it to teach about alchemy. Make sure you understand what you use. If you just copy and paste without actually learning, you will fail the quiz. Due 18 November
