Ms. Davis's Classroom Policies
1. Be prompt, prepared, positive, productive and polite.
2. When you come into the classroom, read the board for assignments and instructions.
3. Never put anything on my desk unless I specifically ask you to. Paper-based work goes in your class tray. Electronic work is turned in via Google Classroom.
4. When you have an unforeseen absence, you must come to me to get your missed assignments. If an assignment was given prior to your unforeseen absence, then the assignment will still be due the day you come back to class. If you know you will be absent (e.g. planned field trips, sports, etc.) and your absence will occur on a day an assignment is due, you must turn in your assignment before you leave.
5. Late work will be automatically assessed a 30 point penalty. Any work more than 3 days (not school days, just days) late will not be accepted and you will receive a zero. (This is English department policy.)
6. There will be plenty of opportunities for extra credit; however, I do not give extra credit grades if you have a zero in the grade book. Turn in your work!
7. I am here to help you! I have tutorials Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school (unless I have a meeting) as well as Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 7:00-7:40 a.m.
8. Do not interrupt my class. If you need to speak to me about anything outside of your specific class time, you must come before or after school.
9. Cheating in any form will not be tolerated. If you are caught cheating on a test or quiz, you will receive a zero. If you plagiarize a paper, you will receive a zero, a discipline referral (placed in your file documenting the plagiarism), and an automatic "C" in conduct for the 6-weeks. If you are helping one another with questions or homework, DO NOT COPY WORD FOR WORD! I will mark the answers wrong on BOTH papers that have identical answers for questions. If I catch you copying work for another class while in my room, I will confiscate both papers and turn them in to the appropriate teacher.
